The highlight of this project was the galvanizing of twelve-fifteen metre columns weighing over ten tonnes each. This required the help of Matt Clarke and his team at The Lifting Company who designed and fabricated a specialised lifting system using three mobile cranes, a spreader bar and chains capable of withstanding the tough galvanizing conditions. Each column took two hours just to galvanize and are the heaviest pieces of steel ever galvanized by Hartway Galvanizers. Pacific Industrial Company has taken advantage of the individual project areas set up on-site with all steelwork being galvanized, inspected, barcoded, packed and despatched direct from the Naval Base factory.
